The pool water is pumped through the filter sand, trapping debris in the sand while the clean water is pumped back into the pool. In addition to clean and clear water, the filter pump also circulates the pool water, allowing the added maintenance products (chlorine, pH, etc.) to work more effectively. This makes your maintenance products last longer—which is also good for your wallet. The sand filter pump is therefore the most important part of the pool!

This Flowclear sand filter pump has 6 functions (filtering, backwashing, rinsing, shutting off, draining, and circulating). This way, you can enjoy a clean pool hassle-free and with no effort! This filter pump has a sand capacity of 8.5 kg. Do you use Polysphere filter balls as filter media? If so, it canhold 240 gr.

Thepre-filter basket ensures that coarse debris, such as floating leaves and hair, is separated before filtering. This extends the lifespan of your sand filter pump and makes cleaning easier.

Please note: this pump does not include filter sand!

For which pools is this filter pump suitable?
This sand filter pump is suitable for above-ground pools ranging from 1,100 L to 16,600 L.

Please note: This pump cannot be used for pools larger than 16,600 liters. Before purchasing, check the capacity of your pool so you can buy a pump with the right specifications—that way, your swimming season won’t go down the drain 😉

What is the capacity of this sand filter pump?
This pump has a capacity (pump flow rate) of 3,596 L/h. Once you connect the pump to the pool, it begins to filter the water. Due to water flow, the pump will lose some power. We call this the system flow rate, which is 2,082 L/h. The actual efficiency of filtering the water is therefore lower than the filter pump’s capacity. Keep this in mind when choosing a suitable filter pump for your pool’s volume and the accessories you want to connect to it. Would you like to connect a solar mat or a pool vacuum? Then you need to make sure your filter pump is definitely powerful enough to run these accessories! So be sure to compare the pump’s flow rate with the system’s flow rate.

How should you maintain the sand filter pump?
The advantage of this Krystal Clear sand filter pump is that it requires virtually no maintenance. The sand only needs to be replaced after 3 years. This is in contrast to a cartridge filter pump, where it’s recommended to replace the cartridge every two weeks.

What is the difference between a cartridge filter pump and a sand filter pump?
A cartridge filter pump mainly traps coarse debris, while a sand filter pump filters much more thoroughly. Sand filter pumps are therefore ideal for a medium-sized or large pool! As mentioned above, a sand filter pump also requires much less maintenance!
